“ (PHOTOS ARE LEFTOVERS--forgot to take one at the restaurant!) I do not write reviews--even when I have fantastic food, but my experience here was truly unforgettable. At first I was confused by the style of service--I'm from California and our servers have a very scripted way of greeting you and servicing you. This place felt like walking into a restaurant my own family owned. When we arrived, a few of the restaurant workers were chatting it up with what looked like another customer. Totally unheard of!! Extremely friendly, casual environment and the food was wonderful, I had their eggplant parmigiana and a slice of their pizza (don't remember which style) and both were perfect. The eggplant parmigiana tasted like home, and the pizza had such a wonderful homemade flavor that I didn't expect. We were really impressed by the flavor. When it came to choosing a dessert, Alexandra, who told me that she had worked in a bakery for 14 years previously, and made all of Tony's desserts in house- was eager to answer my questions and show me all the different desserts!! Tony himself chimed in and told us what his favorite was-- and once the conversation started, Tony and my father were talking for at least 20 minutes! It seemed like the whole restaurant came over and chatted with us about anything and everything-- so friendly and so sincere. We genuinely felt like their friends! Completely different from what I'm used to, it was SUCH a breath of fresh air. This was my first stop in New York and I'm so glad I chose here! Stop by, eat some good food and don't be a stranger! ”
“ Great overall experience! We had pasta entrees as main course which were nice large portions but we also got to sample the pizza which was amazing. Desert, tiramisu, was also amazing -- on par with an expensive fine dining restaurant. The service was prompt and super friendly and the ambiance was nice with a unique style that reminded us of a black and white photography studio. Would recommend for a nice casual, flavorful, evening out or just to pick up great pizza and dessert. ”
